Item # OSL-34  Jim Otis Reunion Print

In 1968, Ohio State, led by Woody Hayes and eleven future All-Americans, won college football's National Championship.  They completed their regular season an undefeated 10-0 after beating Michigan 50-14 to clinch the Big Ten title.  On New Year's Day in the Rose Bowl, the Buckeyes beat USC 27-16 led by Heisman Trophy winner O.J. Simpson.

Jim Otis was one of the leaders on the Ohio State offense which averaged 32 points and 440 yards per game.  In the Big Ten title game, he rushed for 143 yards and 4 touchdowns to beat Michigan by a score of 50-14.   Jim led the team in rushing yardage for three consecutive years.  He is eleventh all-time in scoring with 35 touchdowns and 210 points.  Jim was selected All-American in 1969.  After graduation, he played nine years in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals.  He is a member of the Ohio State Hall of Fame.

In Columbus in 1993, the entire team was recognized at a reunion banquet.  At the banquet, Artists for Athletes offered a series of prints paying tribute to the eleven All-Americans who played on that team.  The print run was limited to only 100, and each All-American received 33 of their own prints as a gift with another 33 prints going to the sponsors of the event.  The remaining 34 prints sold out fast to the 1,000 people who attended the banquet.

This is an 11 x 14 inch limited edition unmatted print of Jim Otis signed and numbered by the artist.  It is one of the prints offered at the reunion event and is not autographed.  It will attract quite a bit of attention displayed in your home or office.  Remember that only 100 of these prints were ever produced.  This is also a great gift idea for a Buckeye fan, a loved one or can be a unique auction item for a charity fundraising event.
