Item # OSL-23 1960 Basketball Champions In 1960, Ohio State University men's basketball team coached by Fred Taylor won the NCAA tournament. Fred was voted basketball's Coach of the Year in 1961 and 1962. Jerry Lucas was twice named the National College Player of the Year and was the only three time choice for the Big Ten Player of the Year. John Havlicek went on to become the fourth leading scorer in the history of professional basketball. Bobby Knight, a substitute on this team, went on to be a great coach at Indiana University. All four members of that team now reside in the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. All five starters played in the NBA. In 1995, the entire 1960 team was recognized at a reunion banquet. Artists for Athletes produced 600 of these prints as a tribute to this legendary team. At this fund raising event, prints were sold for $40.00 each and since almost all of them were sold at the reunion banquet, not very many of these prints ever reached the general public . This 16 x 20 inch limited edition unmatted print is one of only 600 signed and numbered by the artist and not autographed. This print will be the focal point of your memorabilia collection. It will attract plenty of attention in your home or office. This is also a great gift idea for any Ohio State fan, loved one or a unique auction item for a charity fundraising event.
