Item # OSL-21 Woody Hayes Reunion Print In 1968, Ohio State, led by Woody Hayes and eleven future All-Americans, won college football's National Championship. They completed their regular season an undefeated 10-0 after beating Michigan 50-14 to clinch the Big Ten title. On New Year's Day in the Rose Bowl, the Buckeyes beat USC 27-16 led by Heisman Trophy winner O.J. Simpson. In the fall of 1993, the entire 1968 team was recognized at a reunion banquet. Artists for Athletes produced 200 of these prints as a tribute to Woody Hayes and that team. At this fund raising banquet, 100 of these prints were presented to those who reserved a table for $1,000.00. Another 50 of the prints were distributed to corporate sponsors. Not very many of these prints ever reached the general public or even the players. In hind sight, we should have produced an additional one hundred prints, so that each player on the 1968 team could have received one. As a result, this print became one of the most sought after prints in Ohio State football history. This 18 x 24 inch limited edition unmatted print is one of only 200 signed and numbered by the artist. This particular print was authentically autographed in red sharpie by the ten living All-Americans who played on that 1968 team. These 10 All-American players are Rex Kern, Jack Tatum, Jim Otis, Jim Stillwagon, Tim Anderson, Dave Foley, John Brockington, Ted Provost, Mike Sensibaugh and Jan White. It is estimated that under 24 prints were signed by all of them. This unique piece will be the focal point of your Ohio State Buckeye memorabilia collection. It will attract quite a bit of attention in your home or office. This is also a great gift idea for any Buckeye fan, loved one or a unique auction item for a charity fundraising event.
