Bernie Kosar, Cleveland's hometown hero, led Cleveland to three straight AFC Central Division Championships in his first three years.  His 1986, 1987 and 1989 teams all came within one game of the Super Bowl, only to lose to John Elway and the Denver Broncos each time.  After his release from Cleveland he got a Super Bowl ring with the Dallas Cowboys, before joining the Miami Dolphins.
